Environmental Policy

WORKING TOWARDS ISO 14001

In respect of our professional and social responsibilities regarding the procurement of timber solids, substrates, and veneers, as well as operating approach:

  • W.J. White will ensure that the traceability of timbers, substrates, and veneers will follow Chain of Custody through industry and governmental regulations where applicable (i.e. FSC, CSA, MTTC, SPI, PEFC).
  • In some cases where Chain of Custody is not available, W.J. White will only use timbers from long established wood mills in countries where the government has signed CITES.
  • W.J. White accepts that clients are partners in achieving improvements in the environmental performance of the company and as such will promote and educate our partners regarding the procurement of timber solids, substrates, and veneers.
  • W.J. White will promote sound environmental practices within our industry, including the sharing of experience with others and the continued support of research and development in environmental improvement.
  • W.J. White will ensure all operations be conducted in a manner that safeguards health, sustains the environment, and conserves valuable materials and resources.
  • W.J. White will continue to improve company policies, programs, and environmental performance, taking into account technical developments, scientific understanding, client specifications, and community expectations, with legal regulations as a starting point.
