About
In 1931 William John White left Gilberts (Cabinet Makers) and began to manufacture his own furniture in a garage in Old Town. He soon expanded and moved with a small workforce to workshops in the Old Moose Hall (behind the garage in Bath Road). By 1936 he was living over a showroom at the top of Victoria Road selling Oak and Mahogany reproduction furniture. This was brought to a halt in 1939 when wartime restrictions limited him to making 'Utility Furniture'.
In 1945 Will moved to the Old Brewery, and was joined by his son, Reginald. The company continued to expand, successfully winning repair and restoration contracts for local air force bases.
During the 1960's, work was limited to repair contracts and it was not until the 1970's that we once again started to make reproduction furniture. This led to our expansion into the specialist market for the Middle East, and we moved to our present Signal Way factory in 1981.
Today, we have an ever-expanding market in London, where we are recognised for our quality and the pride we take in our Company. It is this pride, together with the determination to pass on our skills to new apprentices and the development of new ideas and methods that will remain our goal.
A Leading UK Office Furniture manufacturer coordinating high craft skills with the most up to date production methods, with the expertise to undertake large and small projects based on our standard ranges (Congress / crome).
